01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Picking your choice of 3 gins from roughly 60 domestic and global labels is the core ritual of the Craft Gin Cellar Door at Craft Museum. Tasting pours can be sampled neat to discern the base botanicals and aromas directly, or extended with soda water, letting you explore how effervescence shifts the profile.

The wine shelves emphasize Japanese bottlings. Through the Wine Cellar Door, visitors taste 3 selections spanning reds, whites, and skin-contact orange wines. Guided by background notes and context shared by the owner, a flight can reveal dimensions that casual glass pours seldom highlight.

Beyond gin and wine, the shop maintains a dedicated appreciation for Kenbishi, the historic Nada sake brewery. A four-part tasting flight compares Kenbishi, Kuromatsu, Gokujo, and Mizuho in traditional tasting cups (kikichoko). When supplies arrive—primarily during the winter months—the shop also offers Kuromatsu Kenbishi poured fresh from a wooden barrel into a pristine cedar masu cup (sho-ichigo), which guests may take home. The barrel sake is seasonal and subject to availability.

The small, calm room centers on a standing counter suited to solo visitors or duos. Bottles sampled during the tasting can be purchased to take home.
